The Prague Uprising (1945)

The Prague Uprising was a successful attempt by the Czech resistance to liberate the city of Prague from Nazi occupation in May 1945, at the end of World War II. Citizens of Prague spontaneously attacked the  occupiers and resistance leaders emerged from hiding to join the uprising. Nazi troops counter-attacked, but their progress was slowed by barricades constructed by the Prague citizenry.
